Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during a consultation?

During our time together, I’ll listen carefully to your unique situation, identify which Social Security programs may apply to you, walk you through your filing options, and answer your questions along the way. You’ll leave the session with clarity on your next steps, a better understanding of when to start the process, and what to expect. Many people meet with me simply to get their “ducks in a row” before they begin.

What personal information do I need for a consult?

Just your Date of Birth and your Full Retirement Estimate (PIA), which you can find on your mySSA.gov account.

Do I need to share my SSN?

Nope! I focus only on Social Security laws, filing strategies, and how to interpret your SSA information.

Why did you leave Social Security?

Leaving was a very hard decision. The new administration offered an incentive package to reduce the number of employees to align with their budget cuts. I was already exploring the idea of trying something new, but wasn’t sure which direction to turn. This path organically unfolded. The idea of consulting was suggested by a stranger in a jewelry store after learning that I had recently resigned from the agency. She said “I was sitting on a wealth of knowledge”.

I just finished my session with you and remembered another question! Can I contact you?

Yes, I will respond to one follow up email if you remember one more question within 48 hours of your session.

Do you give investment advice?

Nope! I focus only on Social Security laws, filing strategies, and how to interpret your SSA information.

Do I have to do the meeting over Zoom?

I am happy to speak with you over the phone if you prefer.
